For achieving the best therapeutic effect, Olinek Suit is made of two types of lycra fabric.
Lycra I – thin and very elastic, it makes the base of our orthotic and creates consistent compression, contributing to better sensory stimulation.
Lycra II – thicker and less elastic, it gives the sense of stability and increases proprioception, stimulating different muscle groups. Lycra II is used for these parts which are responsible for maintaining correct posture: abdomen, buttocks and spinal erectors. Lycra II covers also the area of lower limbs, facilitating abduction, extension and external rotation.
The orthotic has legs that can be unzipped, which allows for changing diaper in an easy and quick manner.
We recommend that the child starts using Olinek Suit from one hour a day and then the duration of use may be systematically extended. Children who start wearing the orthotic should be monitored for increased sweating, respiratory problems, itching or rash. Side effects are unlikely to occur if Olinek Suit is introduced gradually.
